This blog combines two of the geekier interests in my life–emerging information technology and the social sciences. As an aspiring political scientist (read: lowly graduate student!) I am interested in the ways these technologies are augmenting, eroding, or overthrowing our traditional notions of human relationships, political participation, and policy formation. Here I will write about these intersections, the studies being conducted to understand them, and the work yet to be done.
As for me, I am currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a PhD in Political Science (subfields: American Politics and Political Methodology). I am particularly interested in studying the role of geography in creating differential policy outcomes–specifically the affect of the centralization of education policy on rural America.
